What if I told you all those mystical creatures that have you heard about in fairy tales actually existed? Elves, Dwarfs, Dragons, Nymphs, Sprites, Mermaids, Unicorns, all of them were real. What if all those creatures once roamed the world, and lived with humans side by side? What if I told you that humanity was responsible for the second largest mass extinction this planet has ever seen? And that I had to clean up and hide the truth from humanity so they thought they were alone in this universe? I'm getting ahead of myself,  let me start from the beginning.

2 million years ago apes started to evolve into different types of life, humanity is only aware of one branch that split from the great apes. Many other branches were made, just like any tree. Naturally, some branches died off or were merged into others. The ones that survived started to evolve into what you see around you every day or what you only hear about in your fairy tales and fantasy stories.  200 thousand years ago modern looking humans appeared and while still hostile, shared the world with many other ape descendants. All was good until about 150 thousand years ago when humanity slowly started to spread out of Africa.

My story starts around 34 thousand years ago in what is now modern day Italy. I was born May 12th, 31,985 B.C.E. by your calendar. My clan had just settled down in what is now one of the major cities (I don't keep track of your city's names unless I'm in them.) We were rather peaceful,  only killing for food never war. My parents were the chief and his wife, making me the heir to a clan of elves.

Oh, did I forget to mention that? Yeah, elves, pointy ears and everything. Only not as short as those tales of elves from the north pole, no elf is that short. Our heights are close to that of humanity,  our ears are just longer.

I was born with one blue eye and one green eye and freckles that went across my nose. I heard stories about how my parents fused over whether or not I was my father's kid. Amazing what happens when you start to question the clan and everyone says the same thing,  got him to shut up about legitimacy and just started to help take care of me.

Growing up my father taught me how to fight, while my mother taught me how to cook and to craft. We might have been peaceful but we weren't stupid, our best fighters could do some amazing things that you can only see with the help of your computers. I was close to the same level of skill as our best warriors before I hit puberty.

When puberty hit I had to slightly alter my fighting style to account for my developing breasts and the new height I had gained. On the plus side when ever I was on my period I was not only as good but better than the best warriors in our clan and in the neighboring clans as well. By my 15th birthday I was already out hunting large game by myself,  even had a neat little carrier  I made that I could carry the larger game on. Life was good, until my I turned 18. That is when things went downhill fairly quickly.

A month after I turned 18 a neighboring clan of dwarves sent a message saying they had spotted a group of humans heading our way. Naturally we thought we could help them settle down and get a decent settlement started. It had started out that way, but as the weeks turned to months the group of humans started to get hostile.

Finally, on one dark night the humans attacked us in the middle of the night while we were still sleeping. They started to kill the men and children. The women would have been raped but were killed for putting up a fight. When they got to me they got more than what they bargained for. The first ones in had arrows in their heads, the next ones had their throats cut and a very angry elf walking over their corpses notching another arrow in her bow. Needless to say that I cleared out most of the attackers, the rest fled in fear. Still managed to kill a few even as they got a mile out,  but the damage was done. Somehow they killed the entire clan before one of us started to retaliate.

As I looked around at all my clan members,  I couldn't help but start to cry. Everyone I knew,  everyone I loved was dead. After crying for what seemed like hours,  I eventually started to cremate everyone around me. See once we discovered fire, everyone that died was cremated and we used the ashes to enrich the topsoil in our farms. While you might think that is a bad thing or we were crazy to do that, but we knew what we were doing.

Once I had everyone cremated except the humans, as I had no clue what you did with your dead at the time, I started to head over to the dwarfs village with news of the attack. Only problem with that was I was too late to warn them.

By the time I arrived to the village they were dead, almost dead or captured. The ones that were barely alive asked me to put them out of their misery. Mercy killing is always hard. One dwarf was able to tell me which way the attackers went before he succumbed to his wounds.

Having witnessed dwarven funerals before I stuck as close to their tradition as I could. It was still hard to do, my second large scale funeral in less than a week and I still had to try and save the ones that were captured. Unfortunately I couldn't find them for 9 months, by then they already had children. The children eventually would grow to be normal humans but their descendents would occasionally have the dwarf genes dominate over the human genes, causing dwarfism in humans. Sorry,  got ahead of myself.

After trying to help the dwarven camp only to have to bury them all I started to look for the kidnapped dwarfs in hoping to save them, I headed in the direction the dying dwarf said they went. After a few days of travel I found another village that had been destroyed. However this one was different.

Walking into the village the first thing I saw was the massive dragon in the middle of the village. The next thing I saw was the the charred corpses of the orcs that the dragon had fought. Now the thing about dragons is naturally they are hard to kill, but rumor had it that if you could kill a dragon and drink it's blood you would become immortal. I never heard of anyone actually killing a dragon and drinking it's blood,  but supposedly a friend of a friend of a friend knew someone who was related to some guy that did. I think we know how those stories go. Needless to say I was curious if it was true or not, plus I was thinking of trying to use the dragon's scales as armor, it's bones as weapons and it's wings as a cloak.

As I slowly and quietly approached the dragon I realized that this was going to really suck if I couldn't get a good first strike in. After all the dragon's head was twice my size and it only got bigger. Of all the species that humanity was responsible for killing off, I'm kinda glad dragons are gone.

Once I was near, I walked around until I found the gut. Figured if I shot a few well placed arrows in the general area of the heart I might hit it and wouldn't have to fight a dragon as big as this. After all the goal was supplies and to test a myth, not to get the dragon slayer title that you usually get if you kill one while it's awake and breathing fire at you. Granted, someone has to see you do that for the title to stick.

As I looked at the belly of this beast I found an approximate location of the heart and started to notch as many arrows that I could fit on the bow hoping the grouping might get an arrow through it's armor.

Started daydreaming the other night, thought it sounded good. This is what I got so far. I also have no clue what this would be under for DA.

Suggestions / critiques welcome.

Edit: Got it so this is up to date with what I got
